Kidepo valley national park has a couple of safari lodges for its visitors to stay. Most of these are around the Apoka area and they are eco based accommodation facilities. The lodges are grouped into three classes that is the luxury, standard and economy. The services of the lodges differ and also the rates. The luxury safari lodges with top class services and pricy rates and the economy with low services and prices. The guest is always given a chance by the tour operator to choose from a variety of the safari lodges the most suitable he/she can stay.
Apoka Safari Lodge: Built on an ancient huge rock overlooking River Narus, Apoke Safari lodge is one of the executive accommodation facility in Kidepo Valley national park to stay. There are 10 spacious rooms for its guest, full furnished with a sitting area and wash rooms well fitted. The rooms have balconies overlooking the stunning landscapes of Kidepo valley national park. The swimming pool to cool off after busking in the hot sun of Kidepo valley national park is constructed out of the permanent rock around the lodge. There is free internet and breakfast for its guest. Apoka Safari lodge also offers air transport services from Kidepo to Entebbe. Apoka safari lodge is truly an executive accommodation facility!
Nga’Moru Wilderness Camp: This is a small moderate safari lodge nestled at the margins of kidepo valley national park in the rocky areas of Nga’Moru. It faces afore of Narus Valley, one of the popular animal habitats in the park. Zebras, buffaloes, elands, elephants and others are seen feeding in the valley while at the lodge. The wilderness camp has 5 self contained rooms for its guest to stay. It also offers culinary services to its guest, both African and continental dishes available.
Apoka Rest Camp: It is a pocket friendly lodge establishment managed by the Uganda wildlife Authority. It has 16 self contained huts and 14 banda with outside shared toilets and bathrooms. There is a campsite for travellers who come with their own camping tents and gears. Foods is available on arrangement with the Uganda wildlife Authority stuff. The rest camp is situated near the Apoka tourism centre hence being a great spot to start off a game drive experience within the park.
Kidepo Savannah Lodge: This is an all-round safari lodge located within the park’s vicinity near Kalokudo gate. While at the lodge, sights of some amazing natural features of kidepo are seen for instance Narus valley, Mount Morungole and other far hills which border Sudan. Kidepo Savannah lodge has 12 luxury self contained tent rooms raised off the ground. For the budget travellers, there are 9 non self contained tents with outside shared bathrooms and toilets. The dinning lounge is top class serving the guest amazing beverages and delicacies.
