5 Days Uganda Self Drive Tour

This is a trip where you will discover on your own Uganda’s two most amazing national parks; Murchison falls national park and Kibale forest national park.
A combination of Murchison Falls national park and Zziwa Rhino sanctuary will enable you to see the big five mammals. Elephants, lions, buffaloes and leopards are seen at Murchison falls national park whereas the rhinos are tracked at Zziwa. You will then have a date with the chimpanzees, our closest cousins at Kibale forest national park.

Day1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park and Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary Stopover

The rental car will be delivered at the airport or your hotel in the morning and then set off to north of Uganda where Murchison falls national park is found. We advise you to heed to our speed limit of 40km/hr on town roads and 80km/hr on highways.

When you reach Nakasongola district, you will dash off to Zziwa Rhino sanctuary to meet and watch the only rhinos in Uganda. You will have lunch at the eatery spot in the sanctuary or drive to Masindi town to enjoy some local foods in any of the established restaurant around.

After your meal, you will catch the exact road leading to Murchison Falls national park. When you get to the park, you will go for the hike to the top of the falls, where you will witness the Nile force its way through a narrow gorge to have a heavy plunge down into the Nile basin.

This is an eye-catching feature to watch and to take pictures too. Adjacent to the Murchison falls, there is also Uhuru falls to marvel at.

At the completion of sightseeing the falls, you will head to your lodge for dine and prepare for the following day’s activities.

There are two boat ride experiences; the upstream that goes to the Nile basin and front of waterfalls and the downstream which sails to the Victoria Nile delta. The two offer the same experience since they all have similar aquatic animals henceforth whichever cruise you take will be as exciting as the other.

The marine creatures to watch on the boat ride are crocodiles, hippos, waterbucks, birds like king fishers, hornbills, egrets, vultures and many more.  Additionally, land animals like elephants and buffaloes are seen at the river banks drinking water.  The boat ride normally starts at 2pm and ends 5pm.
